Upon arrival at Brussels Airport, complete customs formalities and collect your baggage. Proceed to the car rental counter located in the arrivals/departures area to pick up your vehicle. Begin your drive to Bruges via the E40 highway, covering approximately 101 kilometres. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and freshen up.
Optional: Drive to the coastal village of De Haan, located about 26 km from Bruges. Situated in West Flanders, De Haan is known for its Belle Époque architecture and its unique combination of beachside scenery and lush greenery. Enjoy lunch at one of the charming local cafés (at an additional cost). Return to Bruges and spend the afternoon at leisure.
Optional: Enjoy an offbeat exploration of Bruges with a leisurely 20-minute bicycle ride through green parks, across a wooden footbridge, past the city’s remaining windmills, and along a picturesque canal leading to the town of Damme. Later, visit the renowned Flemish chocolatier B by B at Sint-Amandsstraat to indulge in artisanal chocolates. In the evening, enjoy dinner at a traditional Flemish restaurant, sampling local specialties such as Flemish stew or mussels with fries (at an additional cost). Return to the hotel. Overnight stay in Brussels.
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and depart by car for Antwerp. Drive toward Damme along the scenic Damse Vaart–Zuid road, which runs alongside the water and features several restaurants and cafés. Continue toward Hoeke and take the E34 toward Antwerp. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel.
Optional: Visit Park Spoor Noord, a large urban green space offering fountains, playgrounds, walking and cycling paths, and a skate park. Explore key attractions such as the Rubens House, the MoMu Fashion Museum, the Diamond District, and The Chocolate Line by renowned chocolatier Dominique Persoone, where you may also try the famous chocolate shooter. Enjoy lunch at a city-centre restaurant (at an additional cost). Later, visit the banks of the River Scheldt, which play a vital role in Antwerp’s commercial importance. After breakfast, depart Antwerp to explore East Flanders by car. Follow the E17 and take Exit 8 to De Pinte. Drive through the picturesque village of Deurle, located near the River Lys, and pass Sint-Martens-Latem, one of Belgium’s most affluent residential areas. Continue to Bachte-Maria-Leerne near Deinze to visit the beautiful Ooidonk Castle, known for its fairytale setting.
Proceed to Sint-Martens-Latem and stop at Auberge du Pêcheur, a scenic restaurant located along the river. Later, drive to Ghent via the N43. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel. Parking is available at the underground facility near Vrijdagmarkt.
Optional: Since much of Ghent’s historic centre is car-free, enjoy a guided walking tour of the city’s highlights. In the evening, relax with a boat cruise along Ghent’s canals, enjoying champagne, beer, or the locally brewed gin, Jenever. Dinner at a local restaurant (at an additional cost). After breakfast, depart Ghent and drive toward Brussels.
Optional: Visit the Lindemans Brewery in Vlezenbeek, a family-owned brewery located southwest of Brussels. From Ghent, take the E40 toward Brussels, exit at Ternat, and drive through St. Martens Bodegem and Schepdaal before reaching Vlezenbeek. Enjoy a guided brewery tour with beer tasting (at an additional cost).
Continue to the Castle of Gaasbeek, built in the 13th century and now a national museum featuring impressive art collections, including works by Peter Paul Rubens. Drive onward to Dworp, passing St. Pieters-Leeuw and the Coloma Rose Garden, home to thousands of rose varieties. Enjoy lunch at a local café (at an additional cost). Proceed to Brussels via Chaussee de Waterloo, passing through scenic parks en route to the city centre. Check in to your hotel. Dinner at one of Brussels’ renowned Michelin-starred or local restaurants (at an additional cost). Overnight stay in Brussels.
After breakfast, settle any incidental expenses at the hotel. Drive to Brussels Airport and return the rental car at the designated drop-off area within the scheduled time. Proceed to the terminal to board your return flight home.
