Arrive Lima

  • Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. Since its foundation on the 18th of January 1535 by the conqueror of Peru, Francisco Pizarro, Lima or, the ‘City of Kings’ has been the capital of Peru. Its magnificent colonial architecture led UNESCO to declare the Historic Centre of Lima a World Heritage site.

Lima

  • Breakfast at hotel. Afternoon tour through ancient Lima with a visit to the panoramic view of HuacaPucllana, an archeological site erected in the 4th century A.D. We will be observing the world known pyramid structures typical from the pre-columbian times, sacred and worshiped, off the coast of Peru. The tour will continue with a visit to Colonial Lima, its striking republican architecture and it’s streets with colonial time mansions and their Moorish balconies. We will also be visiting the Paseo de la República, Plaza San Martín and the Plaza Mayor, the Palace of government, the Archiepiscopal Palace, the Cathedral and the Municipal Palace.
  • At the historical center we will visit the museum of the Central Reserve Bank, whereupon we can appreciate the “Treasures of Peru”, a select exposition of golden, ceramic and textile antiques from diverse pre-Columbian cultures. We will enter the San Francisco convent, which constitutes the largest display of colonial religious art in America.
  • Also visiting the subterranean crypts, which are renowned as catacombs due to their similarity with roman crypts. Finally we will tour along contemporary Lima through the traditional residential areas of the capital: El Olivar de San Isidro, Miraflores and Larcomar, the tourist center, distinctive in modern Lima and with a privileged view of the spectacular Pacific Ocean.

Lima-Cuzco

  • Breakfast at hotel. A morning flight to Cuzco and the afternoon will be spent on touring this magnificent city and the nearby ruins– a blend of Inca and Spanish cultures. Visit to the Korikancha or, Temple of the Sun and the Cathedral, continuing to the nearby ruins of Tambomachay (Inca fountains), Puca-Pucara (the Red Fortress), Kenko (sacred site) and finally Sacsahuaman Fortress.

Cuzco-Machu Picchu-Cuzco

  • After breakfast at the hotel our transfers will take you to the Poroy station or Ollantaytambo station, from where the trains due to AguasCalientes depart. After a 4 hour trip we will go to the bus station to reach the entry of the fabulous citadel of Machu Picchu after the 30 minute bus trip. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Wonders of the World, we will begin our tour of the citadel, admiring its steps, temples, sanctuaries and terraces.
  • There is still no known explanation as to how the Incans could move 20 ton stones to the top of Machu Picchu, making this a uniquely beautiful and spiritual site in the world. We will then have lunch and in the afternoon we will return to Cuzco, to the hotels and lodgings.

Cuzco-Puno

  • Breakfast at hotel
    Depart for Puno in bus traveling along the Andes range, passing through picturesque villages up to the town of Juliaca. Visit to Andahuaylillas, Racchi ruins, Pucara and La Raya. On arrival in Puno, check into your hotel, which is on the shores of Lake Titicaca.

Puno

  • Breakfast at hotel. Enjoy a morning visit to the Uros Islands. These islands are made of reeds, rising six metres above the lake level. They are anchored by logs and connected to each other by ropes. The main activity of the local people is fishing and handcrafting several items that they sell to visitors.
  • Continue to Taquile island which has two essential characteristics. Its geography offers a spectacular view from the hills and its standing as a first-rate textile centre. Taquilenos live on their textile activities. This can easily be seen in the men walking about in rubber sandals, wearing black pants, white flannel shirts and beautiful, finely woven chumpis (belts), covering their heads with finely knitted warm ‘chullos’ (caps with ear flaps).

Puno-Lima-Buenos Aires

    Transfer to airport and a flight to Lima and you will be assisted at Lima airport for a connecting flight to Buenos Aires. On arrival, transfer to your hotel. Buenos Aires is a complex, energetic and seductive port city, which stretches south-to-north along the Rio de la Plata. It has been the gateway to Argentina for centuries.

Buenos Aires

  • Breakfast at hotel A city tour introduces a visit to Avenue 9 de Julio, Colon theatre and the Obelisk ‘the symbol of Buenos Aires’. Continue to Plaza de Mayo and the south of the city passing through San Telmo with its ‘tanguerias’, la Boca and Caminito. Onto Puerto Madero, the renewed port of the city and important gastronomic area. Also, a visit to the biggest green space, Palermo, with its parks and buildings and last Recoleta, a neighbourhood where culture and elegance live together. This evening, enjoy a Tango show and dinner at the magnificent Tango Porteno.

Buenos Aires

  • Breakfast at hotel Excursion to the northern districts, Tigre and Delta. Lies 30 km away from the city, Tigre and its delta leads up deep into a natural scenery where the thickness of the shrub land is embraced by various channels of reddish waters. The delta is the third largest in the world, following the famous Nile River Delta and the Amazons River. Nevertheless, its 27 thousand sq. km have been hardly exploited. Enjoy one hour boat ride on the Delta.

Buenos Aires-Iguassu

    Transfer to airport and a flight to Iguassu–famous for Iguassu falls (the widest and most imposing water falls on earth). You will experience Argentinean side of the falls today including the Upper, Lower and the Devil’s Throat Circuits. Enjoy panoramic view of the falls during a walking tour through the passages that connect different observation points.

Iguassu-Rio De Janeiro

  • Breakfast at hotel This morning, experience the Brazilian side of the falls. The walkway entering Iguazu River next to the Floriano fall gives a refreshing reception and a gorgeous view of the lower part of the river and the Devil’s Canyon. Later, transfer to airport and a flight to Rio de Janeiro. ‘The Marvelous city’ is world renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and location, nestled between steep, green mountains and crystal clear seas. Rio features some of the country’s most famous attractions such as the Pao de Acucar, the Corcovado, Copacabana and Ipanema beach. The city is full of energy and cariocas, the locals of Rio, are known for their carefree spirit and charm.

Rio De Janeiro

    Depart for a Sugar Loaf excursion. It begins with a city panoramic view through downtown Rio, passing by the Maracana stadium, the Sambodrome, and Metropolitan Cathedral. Get to know the traditional Cinelandia Square with historical buildings, the Municipal Theatre, the National Library and the National Museum of Fine Arts. By taking the Aterro do flamingo, you will be taken to the neighbourhood of Urca where one of the largest symbols of the city is located: the Sugar Loaf. Rising from small peninsula at the entrance of Guanabara Bay, its name said to refer to its resemblance to the traditional shape of concentrated refined sugar loaf. In the afternoon, take a train ride to the Corcovado mountain with the gigantic statue of Christ the Redeemer (2,300 feet above sea level).

Rio De Janeiro

Winter is dry and warm, becoming colder further north, while summer is ideal for beach relaxation or hiking in national parks, although it can be very hot and humid.
