Product Manager – Travel Tech Platform

Location: Mumbai (In-Office) | Reports to: CEO | Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role

We’re building a new IT platform for the travel industry, and we’re looking for a hands-on Product Manager to own its execution end-to-end. You’ll work directly with the CEO to shape the product vision, and directly with our third-party development vendor to turn that vision into shipped features on time, on spec. This is a high-visibility, high-ownership role for someone who wants to grow from managing a vendor relationship today into building and leading an in-house team within the travel industry tomorrow.

What You’ll Do

• Own the product roadmap for our core IT platform, translating business goals (from the CEO and leadership) into clear technical requirements
• Manage the day-to-day relationship with our third-party development vendor: set specifications, enforce timelines, and hold them accountable to deliverables
• Break down features into well-scoped tasks with realistic but firm deadlines, and track progress against them
• Act as the technical translator between business stakeholders and developers i.e. able to read API docs, understand system architecture, and sanity-check what the vendor tells you
• Identify risks, scope creep, or technical shortcuts early, and push back when needed
• Define and track product metrics/KPIs to measure success post-launch
• Conduct QA/UAT on releases before they go live
• Report progress, blockers, and roadmap updates directly to the CEO on a regular cadence

What We’re Looking For

Must-Haves

• 2-4 years of experience in product management, preferably with at least one cycle managing external vendors/agencies
• Working technical fluency: you understand REST APIs, basic system architecture, and can read/review technical specs (you don’t need to write production code, but you should be comfortable enough to not get talked over by developers)
• Proven ability to set and enforce deadlines with external teams
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to switch fluently between talking business priorities with the CEO and technical detail with engineers.e. able to switch fluently between talking business priorities with the CEO and technical detail with engineers
• Strong ownership mentality i.e. comfortable being the single point of accountability for delivery
• Based in or willing to relocate to Mumbai for an in-office role

Nice-to-Haves

• Prior experience in travel, hospitality, or a related consumer platform business
• Experience with tools like Jira, Postman, Figma, or similar PM/dev tooling
• Some hands-on coding background (even self-taught/bootcamp level) enough to understand effort estimates and spot red flags
• Experience scaling a product function from a vendor-led model to an in-house team
